Dear residents,
A murder investigation has been launched in Northampton following the death of a teenager in the Abington area of the town on the evening of Tuesday, July 7. Officers were called to an address in Adnitt Road shortly before 7pm to reports that a teenage boy had been stabbed. Despite the best efforts of members of the public, police and paramedics, he sadly died at the scene. A police cordon is expected to remain in place at the address in Adnitt Road and in Dallington Park as the investigation into this serious incident continues. Members of the public are urged to avoid both these areas, where possible. In addition to house-to-house enquiries, an increased police presence will also remain in the area, including high-visibility patrols to offer reassurance and support the community. Anyone who has any concerns is encouraged to speak to an officer.
Do you have any information? We are appealing for anyone who may have been in Adnitt Road and the surrounding area from 6pm on Tuesday evening and may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to contact us. We also want to speak to anyone who may have seen two people acting suspiciously in Dallington Park from 7pm onwards. As part of our investigation we want to hear from anyone in Adnitt Road or the surrounding streets who may have captured any footage on CCTV or doorbells, or indeed if anyone driving in the area captured anything on a dash-cam.
How to get in touch: Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Information can also be submitted online at www.northants.police.uk/RO and Giving information | Crimestoppers. Or alternatively information can be submitted via an online portal: Public Portal (mipp.police.uk). Please quote incident number 26000400106 when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.
